Un dolce profumo di scandalo
Nel 1977, Yves Saint Laurent presenta OPIUM. Un profumo, ma prima ancora lo scandalo di un nome… Innocente provocazione per alcuni, “contaminazione intellettuale” e invito alla dissolutezza per altri, lungi dal ricercare consensi, il couturier è divertito da quest’idea. Il messaggio è chiaro: Opium è il profumo della dipendenza.
Dopo 10 anni d’assenza, la leggendaria fragranza OPIUM di Yves Saint Laurent fa il suo grande ritorno sugli schermi.

Una donna alla quale nulla e nessuno può resistere
La talentuosa attrice britannica Emily Blunt è il nuovo volto e l’ambasciatrice del profumo OPIUM. Davanti alla cinepresa di Romain Gavras, si snoda il sensuale balletto di una donna e un leopardo, guardiano del leggendario Opium. Per potersi abbandonare alla dipendenza dalla fragranza, Emily Blunt dovrà ammaliare l’animale con la sua forza e la sua dolcezza.

Che ruolo gioca la fragranza nella sua vita?

–Penso che una fragranza sia un’esperienza molto personale. C’è chi la indossa perché dona sensualità, chi perché infonde sicurezza, chi perché ha appuntamento con un uomo, chi perché evoca un ricordo. Credo sia proprio questo che amo di più. Il fatto che susciti molti ricordi nelle persone. Tutti dicono sempre che hanno annusato qualcosa e che ricordano il bellissimo momento vissuto, magari anche molti anni prima. Non si dimentica mai come qualcosa profuma. Si possono dimenticare volti e nomi, non si possono mai dimenticare i profumi, c’è qualcosa di molto potente legato a essi. E così, con me, la fragranza parla a un’estensione della mia personalità, e in questo modo dà realmente più consapevolezza alla scelta della nostra aura, c’è qualcosa di fantastico in questo.
 

What does the fragrance play in your life? I think that fragrance is a very individual experience for people. I think that some people wear it because it gives them sensuality, some people wear it because it boosts their confidence, some people wear it if they’re going on a date with a man, some people wear it because it evokes a memory for them. So I think really that’s what I love most about it. As that it evokes so much for people. Everyone always says that they’ve smelled something and they’ve remembered this beautiful memory that they had experienced, maybe many years ago. You never forget how something smells. You may forget faces or names, you never forget smells, there’s something very powerful about it. And so, I think that for me personally, fragrance speaks to an extension of my personality, and in that way it’s really empowering to be able to choose your aura, you know, there is something cool about it.

E’ la prima volta che lavora con una fragranza?
– E’ la prima volta che lavoro con una fragranza e che sono testimonial di un brand. Per me è particolarmente emozionante che sia Yves Saint Laurent, perché lo ammiro da così tanti anni, ho un enorme rispetto per ciò che questa casa di moda realizza, perciò farne parte, far parte della storia di Yves Saint Laurent è davvero una grandissima emozione.


Is this the first time you have worked with a fragrance?
‐ This is the first time I’ve worked with a fragrance and actually being the face of a brand. And so I think for me it’s particularly exciting that is Yves Saint Laurent, just because I’ve admired them for so many years, and I have great respect for what the fashion house does and so to be a part of that, to be a part of that kind of history of Yves Saint Laurent is such a thrill for me.

Che cosa significa il brand Yves Saint Laurent per lei?

‐ Yves Saint Laurent è un brand incredibilmente senza tempo che irradia così tanta eleganza e stile. C’è anche qualcosa di misterioso che lo avvolge. Si reinventa costantemente e sorprende le persone, ma più di tutto, penso che parli alla forza della femminilità e delle donne. C’è una forza, un calore interiore, in ogni cosa che realizza.


What does the Yves Saint Laurent brand mean to you?
‐ Yves Saint Laurent is an incredibly timeless brand and I think it just radiates so sort of elegance and style. There is something mysterious about it as well. And it’s constantly re‐inventing itself and surprising people but more than anything, I think it speaks usually to a strength of femininity and women. There is a strength, there is an inner warmth and strength in everything they do.

Per lei, che cosa Yves Saint Laurent ha portato alle donne?

– Ciò che credo Yves Saint Laurent abbia realmente fatto per le donne sia stato dare loro un atteggiamento di grande sicurezza, e penso che fosse qualcosa di nuovo per l’epoca, che permise alle donne di mantenere una grande femminilità ma con una forza al suo interno. Questo era abbastanza raro.


For you what Yves Saint Laurent brought to women?
– Well, truly what I feel Yves Saint Laurent did for women, was gave them an attitude of great empowerment and I think that that was new at the time and it allowed them to still maintain great femininity but there was a strength within it. That was quiet rare.

Che tipo di esperienza è stata fare lo shooting e le riprese per Opium?
‐ È stato davvero emozionante, ho lavorato con grandi artisti per tutto lo scorso weekend. E’ stato entusiasmante perché mi è stata data una storia da interpretare, e per me, come attrice, è davvero appassionante quando ne ho l’occasione. Non sto solo posando o cercando di vendere un prodotto, ma interpretando realmente un personaggio. E’ stato davvero eccitante e ha reso ancora più affascinante far parte di questo brand.

What sort of experience was it when shooting and filming for Opium?‐ It was honestly so exciting and I worked with great artists throughout this entire weekend. It was thrilling because really I was given a story to play and for me, as an actress, that’s very exciting when I do. I’m not just posing or I am not just trying to sell something, to actually portray a character. It was really exciting and it just made it even more thrilling to be part of this brand.

Di che cosa parla il nuovo spot di Opium?
– Il film racconta una storia attraverso un’esperienza molto sensoriale, coinvolgente per il pubblico. Racconta la storia di una ragazza a una festa, in un luogo misterioso, forse un castello, forse un altro posto. E’ alla ricerca di Opium, così abbandona questa festa e inizia a camminare… C’è qualcosa di molto determinato e sicuro sul luogo dove è diretta. E tu continui a cercare di indovinare dove stia andando… lei sta parlando alla sua passione per la fragranza, al suo desiderio di averla. Perciò ti porta con sé in questo viaggio misterioso mentre cammina per i corridoi di questo castello, finché trova Opium. E ancora una volta è una donna forte, una ragazza fantastica. E’ forte, probabilmente grazie alla sua profonda passione per Opium.


What does the new OPIUM film talk about?
– The film tells a story through a very sensory experience that it takes the audience members on. It tells the story of a girl who’s at a party in a mysterious place, maybe a castle, maybe somewhere else. She’s on a hunt for Opium, so she leaves this party, and she’s walking…There’s something determined and direct about where she’s heading. And you kept guessing where she’s going and really it’s speaking to her addiction to the perfume, to her needing to have the perfume. So it takes you on this mysterious journey as she walks through the corridors of this castle until she finds Opium. And again she is a strong woman, she’s a cool girl. She’s strong but probably as a result of her deep passion for Opium.

    it&#39;s true that i have sense memory linked to the perfume opium. there are people who i associate that scent with. it&#39;s a powerful evocation.
