Indovinami, indovino,
tu che leggi nel destino:
l’anno nuovo come sarà?
Bello, brutto o metà e metà?
Trovo stampato nei miei libroni
che avrà di certo quattro stagioni,
dodici mesi, ciascuno al suo posto,
un carnevale e un ferragosto,
e il giorno dopo il lunedì
sarà sempre un martedì.
Di più per ora scritto non trovo
nel destino dell’anno nuovo:
per il resto anche quest’anno
sarà come gli uomini lo faranno.

La Trama
Si festeggiano i vent'anni del principe Siegfried. Wolfgang, il Precettore del Principe, introduce e presenta gli ospiti. La Regina, madre di Siegfried, entra  accompagnata dai cavalieri ed esorta gli invitati a rallegrarsi con lei: il Principe, infatti, si sposerà presto e  sceglierà la promessa sposa tra le fanciulle che ella stessa ha invitato alla festa. Il Principe, pensieroso, sogna un amore ideale e proprio per questo il Precettore cerca di riportarlo alla realtà e ai doveri che lo attendono. Siegfried, però, sembra non intendere ragioni: il suo spirito tende a evadere dalla realtà che lo circonda e a rifugiarsi nel sogno...

La nuova stagione di Balletti del Teatro Alla Scala si aprirà con Il lago dei cigni, nella lettura di Rudolf Nureyev, che torna in scena dopo quasi dieci anni dalle ultime rappresentazioni con una preziosa e inedita collaborazione: il Čajkovskij più amato sarà diretto, in apertura di programma, da Daniel Barenboim, per la prima volta sul podio per il balletto scaligero, lasciando poi la direzione delle recite successive al suo stretto collaboratore Julien Salemkour.

The Plot

We celebrate the twentieth anniversary of Prince Siegfried. Wolfgang, the prince's tutor, and has introduced the guests. The Queen, mother of Siegfried, comes accompanied by knights and encourages guests to rejoice with you that the Prince, in fact, is getting married soon and the bride will choose between the girls that she herself invited to the party. The Prince, thoughtfully, dreams of ideal love and for this the tutor tries to bring it back to reality and the duties that await him. Siegfried, however, seems not to understand why: his mind tends to escape from the reality around him and take refuge in the dream ...

The new season of the Teatro Alla Scala Ballet opens with Swan Lake, in the reading of Rudolf Nureyev, who is back on stage after almost ten years after the last performances with a valuable and unprecedented collaboration: Tchaikovsky's most beloved will be directed at the opening program, by Daniel Barenboim, for the first time on the podium for the ballet La Scala, whilst leaving the direction of future performances to his close associate Salemkour Julien.
